we mentioned in a previous update the Department of Labor is targeting residential care facilities in California for labor law compliance. We have now been informed by DOL that they're getting ready to "blitz" residential care.
ResCoalition has scheduled two Labor Law trainings to ensure you are aware of your obligations as an employer and to highlight Wage Order 5 regulations which is the code that governs residential care…but only if you follow it correctly!
· Do you have the appropriate documentation to allow for on-duty meal/rest breaks?
· Do you have a contract that allows for overtime in accordance with Wage Order 5?
· Do you meet the requirements to not pay sleep time to staff?
