Hi Everyone,

I had a great time - sad I had to bail early yesterday - I came down
with a little fever and decided I'd be better off at home.

If anyone ends up sick this week, sorry, at least you know who to blame.

I'm @cykod and "cykod" pretty much everywhere else.

Hey all!

I'm Renae Bair and I had a great time with all of you this weekend. It was so nice to be stuck in the Maine woods with a bunch of Rubyists! I'm looking forward to the next one.

Again, many many thanks to Brian Cardarella for putting this together. Sometimes it feels like the community is getting so large and anonymous, and events like this one help to bring a sense of solidarity to the ever-changing, ever-growing Ruby ecosystem.

You can follow me here:

I also man the Intridea Twitter account: https://twitter.com/#!/intridea

Happy coding!

Hey folks!

Thanks for making this such an awesome weekend, all of you.  I'm with you, Renae - it's really great to put faces to online personas and get to know some more of our local Ruby community.

I look forward to seeing folks at http://bostonrb.org/ events if that's close to you (it's close to me!), especially since I'll be leaving the area in November.

Sad I had to miss Pickles' talk and the rest of Sunday night.  What'd you all do?

I was also just getting into a few good chats on Sunday on various things like Backbone, client-side optimization, and how to prioritize development tasks to support The Business.  I'd be happy to continue those chats on this group or off-list, if there are any other questions / suggestions people had.

Get some rest!

-Jason

P.S.: I sadly have no Bud Light Knight pictures, but here's a dark, grainy, mobile phone picture of the Venerable Order Of Fire Wizards: http://i.imgur.com/QmzFC.jpg

Mostly just chatted. James gave an awesome talk about AppBlade and
mobile development. It devolved into an interesting discussion on
operating systems, mobile devices, phone jailbreaking, the future of
OS X, etc. Brian shared some war stories about hosting very high
profile clients, and Pickles and I helped Adam with a baffling memory
leak. Things were a lot quieter that night. Not sure if it was because
there were fewer people, or because most people were prepping to go
back to the office the next day.

By the way, thanks for sharing the Faye/Backbone example app. I'm
eager to look through it to learn more about Backbone, and I've
already referred someone else to it to learn about Web Sockets.

Wow. I can't believe I never replied to this thread. So... Quick,
before the next one :-)

Philipp Hanes
Perennial RoR semi-beginner (always playing catch-up with the latest
versions because I never work on a big project with it for long
enough)
I spend more time doing Android stuff these days, but still want to
make sure I keep as up to date as possible

Twitter: @3p (frustrating handle because there's always a ton of
tweets talking about something happening "at 3 PM" which they
abbreviate as "@3p", but too short to be willing to give it up ;-)
https://github.com/philipp (weak, but trying to share a bit more of my
random utilities at least)
http://www.linkedin.com/in/philipphanes (recently spruced up, but rarely used)

And if I could get myself organized enough to keep it updated, my
"corporate" presence is:
http://www.brainglow.com/

Loved RailsCamp NE, and going to be there again in a few days.
Looking forward to it.

Philipp
