The Rubygems server will be hosted on an Ubuntu box I believe, or
possible a Mac Mini. In the case of the Ubuntu we need a way to mount
the Time Capsule drive (where all 44GBs of the gems will be stored)

A quick googling brought up this:

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=636125

If anybody knows for certain how to mount the Time Capsule drive on
Ubuntu please share.

I think mounting depends on the format of the Time Capsule. If it was backed up locally, I think it'll mount automatically when we plug in the USB cable. If it was backed up over the network, it might be in a sparsebundle format (whatever that means!) which might take some extra magic.

Worst case, we can copy all 44GB to the Ubuntu laptop from a Mac, as it should have that much free disk space.

Obviously, I don't know what a Time Capsule is. :) I was thinking of an ordinary Time Machine backup drive, and I don't really know how a Time Capsule handles things. The instructions in your link suggest that we can at least get to the files that are stored on it without too much hassle. Do you know if you can connect to a Time Capsule as a USB drive? It seems like it would be nice to put less of a burden on the network...
