Anyone else having issues returning equipment to RCN?

I upgraded to the 25Mbps and something happened to both of my low-end receivers. I called RCN up and they wanted to send out a tech (and charge me $40) for them to switch out the receivers. Either that, or they wanted me to drive to 1300 & F to exchange the equipment at "no cost to me".

What have any of you done?

I opted to mail it to them. Easy enough, right? 2 weeks have passed and my account still shows that I haven't returned anything to them.

The 25Mbps is nice, by the way. No problems there. They just don't know where my
returned equipment is. They said they haven't received it yet. I sent them the tracking number. He wouldn't do anything with it.

I keep telling myself, "it's better than Gatehouse"

After 15 days of being strung along, I learned something today...

RCN will not allow you to "self install" more than 4 devices. They have to send technicians to the house in order to plug devices in.

But not all the Customer Reps know this information.

So, there you go.
