RCN BS - Help Please

RCN sent me a Cable CARD self install for use in my HD homerun.  After many hours working with the tech's they diagnosed it as defective and put in a work order to send me a new one.

Good.

Not good.  They just cancelled the shipment and told me that thy are required to send a tech out - to do a CableCard SELF-INSTALL.

This makes no sense.  So now I have to take time out of my day to sit and wait for them to send someone to plug a card into for me.

Any one in the HOA or TAC have any sway to help fix this?

Troy,  I ran into similar self-install issues with RCN.  They seem to make stuff up as they go along with no real and clear processes in place.  Just be sure they don't charge you for the visit and ask for AJ. He's pretty easy to deal with and was pretty good at dissolving my anger.

Hey Troy,

 

Here is what RCN said to me, “I am stumped here. I just had someone handle this work order yesterday to make sure it got done. 3 hours later, it looks like the Care agent did the cancellation but this was after the card was already on it’s way to Mr. Nolan.”

 

She said that she will have someone reestablish the work order so that you can call in for activation but, the envelope should arrive to you soon. The replacement card should also arrive with a return label so that the former card can be mailed back to RCN.

I just had them look ... they said the system said it was sent, but they verified that it was actually cancelled..... so they are not telling the truth to you.
