📋 Tournament Rules
1. Play the Ball Down
• No preferred lies.
• Ball must be played as it lies, according to USGA Rule 9.1.
• Exception: Local Rule may be in effect only if course conditions warrant (must be announced by Tournament Director).
2. Bunkers Are in Play
• Governed by USGA Rule 12 – Bunkers
• Highlights:
• You cannot ground your club behind the ball before a stroke (Rule 12.2b(1)).
• Loose impediments may be removed, but the ball must not move.
• Touching sand incidentally (e.g., during a backswing) results in a penalty.
• Relief only allowed if ball is unplayable (with 1-stroke penalty under Rule 19).
