Hi all,

I'm trying to deploy this on a single remote server with about a maximum of 4 users who need to authenticate. But I'm facing some issues regarding the license cache. The server does not have access to the public internet, so I've disabled the cloud connection in hopefully the right way.

I've first installed this on a test laptop and was able to get it working how I wanted it, but when I installed it on the production server I was not able to get the authentication working. I keep getting issues about missing/expired license cache. When I went back to my test laptop, I suddenly faced the same issue.

I have the software deployed via Hyper-V as a VM. Can someone help me to get past the license cache issue and make sure that we won't have any issues with the license cache expiring as this server has no connection to the public internet. Any cloud connections should therefore also be disabled.

Any help is much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Bob Koek

Hi Bob,

there's no issue: the free version is meant to stay connected to the internet. It will complain with that exact error after 10 days of not being able to connect to cloud.rcdevs.com. To preserve some form of separation with the internet, there's the option of using an HTTP proxy to get out, like Squid (check the last bits of /opt/webadm/conf/servers.xml).

So-called "offline licenses" are available for a price, but need to be asked for explicitly at sales at rcdevs.com.

I suppose you could also write a cronjob that lets it connect every ~9 days for a little while, then close again, or firewalls rules that very specifically let it connect to the IPs behind cloud.rcdevs.com, ... in any case some connection was meant to be necessary by us.
