Hello,

I try to start or modified a VM on VMware 6.5 and I receive this error:

Invalid guestId in ConfigInfo

Have you a idea for this problem ?

Best regards.

I think that your hypervisor doesn't support the gestos indicated in vmx file

Could you edit it and choose an other name, for exemple rhel6Guest?

after changing the guest operating system, you have to enter the configuration and change in general option the client OS then it works.

Thank you for your help

How did you get into the general options to be able to change the guest OS.

When I attempt to Edit Settings it gives me the "Invalid guestId in ConfigInfo" error and doesn't let me amend any settings.

It depends on VMware's version.

But with the 6.5, you can open VM's console and after that, you edit parameters and change the guest operating system.

normally, it's possible for you to start or edit parameters from the web interface.
