Quick question for those attending RCC 2012 in Canberra, where are people staying? :)  I've had one or two people ask me about this.  As a local, I can't really give a good answer.  There aren't that many cheap options and nothing particularly close.  (Dealing with weekend bus schedule, renting a bicycle for several days or renting a car are the best strategies.)  If people are planning regular hotels or car rental with an idea for sharing, please comment on list to find others who are doing the same.  If not, please comment on the talk page for event at http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Talk:University_of_Canberra/RCC2012 :)

Thanks muchly!

Hi all,
I can and have driven a bus and didn't need a special license, which has to do with the seating capacity/size. I used to drive young people to the snow fields at Lake Mountain. But it's probably easier to just get a couple of taxis and share the cost. Or walking is good. Also Laura said she is happy to organise a 'bus pass' around Canberra for those who would like it.

Just as a word of warning: Taxis in Canberra are not cheap. Taxis are also not easy to find.  http://www.tams.act.gov.au/move/public_transport/taxi_services_and_information/taxifares gives an idea as to rates.

Sincerely,
