Hi,

rCache loaded fast into FF3 and seems to quickly load data to your
server process.

I selected a web page with a long, vertical table of event info -
film, region, theater, show-dates. Each showing in a theater has a
unique URL, and the browser add-on popup window seems to show the
captured links properly and the text info from page, stripped of all
markup.

When I go to rCache site to view and attempt sorting or filtering the
data, a couple of issues arise.
1. only a single URL appears as "extracted links" Are they "there"
somewhere?

2. I'm ignorant about "tags" for web usage or actual database
programs. - I try to use data in simple html tables and sort with
javascript bookmarklets, typically. Is there an automatic attempt to
associate the manually entered "tags" with various parts of the text
saved to rCache servers? Do I need to select the text in the content
window of saved material on my rCache page, while entering a tag name?
I tried just entering the tag names like field names for a record, in
the sequence they appeared in the original page(and in stored data),
but once tags are entered, the order of tags is returned differently,
and none seems to work as any "filter" tool.

Maybe some simple GIF animations instead of the QT movie (which won't
paly for me either in FF3 (I hear the intro audio only) or in my
RealAlternative player - which typically plays anything, nor in
Windows media player (which I hate anyway).

thanks to those helping the database-challenged.

Greg:

You will need to install QuickTime in order to watch the help video. I
will be updating that to Flash Video soon, as we are working on a new
version of rCache.

The best way to debug this issue is to send me the url, so I can try
it myself.

rCache does indeed strip all markup from the extracted web page
selection. rCache just zeros in on the textual data. Markup is
discarded.

Tags are not ordered in any way per entry. They are just tags, one is
not "ranked" above any other. The tags are related to the whole
entry, not a fragment of the entry.

The urls that are extracted from the source content have to be <a></
a> tags. If they are just text like http://foo.com - not html markup -
they will not be extracted.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,

David Dahl
