Hi everyone,

on my ZED PRO system with ROMWBW 3.51, I'd like to have space available on the CF for my application (about 400K) to use via LBA access

What sectors are available? I can't find the layout of the CF contents (hd512k_combo.img).

Can anyone give me some guidance?

The newer ROMWBW supports PC partitions so just allocate your own partition with an unused type number.

In addition to Alan's guidance, I would point you to "RomWBW System Guide.pdf" in the Doc directory of the RomWBW distribution. The Disk Layout section has very good pictorial representations of the hd512 and hd1k disk layouts. Also, the Doc directory of the RomWBW distribution has "Hard Disk Anatomy.pdf" which is a 2 page PDF containing even more detail.
