For some reason, CP/M 3.0 and ZPM3 aren't loading for me. I've run the CPMLDR and told it the drive and slice (2.3 and 2.4 respectively). Both stop and never make it to a useable state. Just tried the ZPM3 - got this:

Boot CP/M 3 from Disk Unit: 2   Slice: 4

 Loading ZPM3...
 BNKBIOS3 SPR  F700  0700
 BNKBIOS3 SPR  5200  2E00
 RESBDOS3 SPR  F100  0600
 BNKBDOS3 SPR  2400  2E00

 60K TPA

ZPM3 [BANKED] on HBIOS v3.0.1

and here it sits until I reset it.

It's ROMWBW 3.4.0, the appropriate files seem to be where they ought to be. As the ROMWBW.TXT files shows, I used the CPMLDR not the ZPMLDR, and I'm missing something somewhere. Also tried from the normal boot menu entering 2.3 and 2.4, they hang in this same spot. What did I forget to finish?

Hi John,

It appears that your HBIOS ROM (v3.4) and the ZPM/CP/M 3 OS are mismatched.  Notice that when ZPM3 starts it says "on HBIOS 3.0.1".  Your ROM and your OS images must match.  You will need to update your CP/M 3 and ZPM slices to the OS image for v3.4.  You can just write a whole new combo image from the v3.4 distribution to a new CF card or update the OS images on the existing CF card slices.  Take a look at the RomWBW User Guide for more information.  If you get stuck, let me know.

Thanks, Wayne

Thanks, I'll look into that directly.  I'll reread the romwbw guide too. The first few times through, it was a lot over my head!  And I've been doing computing since the late 1970s. But probably because I've forgotten most of what I once knew.

That did it - and man ZPM3 is WAY different than CP/M or even ZP/M 2.2!

Now both CP/M 3 and ZP/M 3 launch happily.

Thanks!

Glad it is all working.  Yes, very different.  Especially ZPM3.

Thanks, Wayne
