Thanks, now why doesn't LOAD "PALLETE.ORG" work, I mean to
LOAD a file from within CPM MBASIC??

Is PALLETTE.ORG a BASIC  program file?

If not then the Basic program probably doesn't know what to do with it.

Don't forget that CP/M user interface and most programs do uppercase file names, but the underlying file system and Basic can use lowercase as well. POWER is a good utility to have on hand to handle files that CP/M can't manipulate .

I take it that GSX is impossible with 64kb, because according to the net it is more than 64kB. in length.

GSX certainly works with 64kb. You need GSX-80. Go see Udos z80pack for examples.
That includes tek 4010 examples. And MBASIC examples. Here is a compiled MBASIC program producing a graphic on a TEK 4010 on a 64k Altair computer: (using xterm as a terminal emulator)

Hi again!! The only place I could find that had any files on GSX-80, was at this DR site:
http://cpmarchives.classiccmp.org/cpm/Software/rlee/D/DIGITAL%20RESEARCH/GSX/GSX_80/,
and at this stage had troubles downloading it.The total KB it is ,is about 80KB.Is it all installed on the CF card??
Also, what was is the site that downloads files to the Mini??
Thanks Simon.

The files on the z80.de site may be zipped, needing unzip on Windows, then transfer to rc2014, or using a new unzip from github , courtesy of Tony Nicholson. Search retro-comp Google group for details.

The  file packager on rc2014 is for a more modern simple format, originating from Grant Searle, to pack and unpack files, and maybe to use his and subsequent download.com.  search Google to find grant searle's site.

More compression formats exist eg arc, ark, arj, lbr (using nulu, lu etc). These can be extracted under cp/m.
Again use Google.

Lots to learn. Please do investigate further to improve your background knowledge. Many questions can be avoided by using Google first. Unfortunately for non English users, the Google info is mostly in English, but Google translate can work quite well, but not perfect.

Happy Retro computing
Cheers
Richard

For anyone interested in a working gsx, have a look at Kurt Mueller's pages on retrobrew. He has implemented gsx under Grant Searle's Multicomp CP/M on a Cyclone IV cpld/fpga

Hi Simon,

If you can refrain from typing in all-caps that would be appreciated.  This isn't the kind of forum where shouting is appreciated.

FilePackager is the term you are looking for, and it's linked on the RC2014 homepage.  https://rc2014.co.uk/filepackage/

Thanks

Spencer
