Hello everybody !

I'm the new owner of an RC2014 Mini II with CP/M extension kit.
Everything look fine BUT I have some CP/M problems.

First the ROM is labelled  M11.2. I can't find any refrence/source for this one ... Any help?

Second the download utility won't  work as soon as the input is more than few chars (I tried putty with delays and teraterm without success).

don't work.

Third (related to second point?) the ddt.com don't work correctly. It loads but hangs on prompt line.

No input at this point. Need to reset RC2014.
So far others programms seem to work normally.
Though I'm not sure with an accurate Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Z recognition.

Any advice would be appreciated.
I tried to rebuild the CP/M image on several CF cards with no luck.

May not be your issue, but when I first started out with my mini system (from Small Computer Central), I had something similar when transferring files. It was my fault as I had not enabled hardware handshaking (RTS/CTS I think) in my terminal program.

Hi Pascal,

The ROM image for this is on GitHub here; https://github.com/RC2014Z80/RC2014/tree/master/ROMs/Factory (It is the Mini II v1.2 hex file)

As Mark suggests, check your RTS/CTS settings, but with a character delay of 2 or 3ms that should work.

I haven't tried DDT for a while, and I am not able to test it from here, but I will give it a try when I am back in the office in a few days and let you know.

Cheers

Spencer

Thanks for your reply. I check that again but it is not my issue. The handshaking blocks the serial serial in my case.

Hi Spencer,
Thank you for the ROM link.
Any serial protocol hangs the stream and also delays aren't working. With the same Putty terminal (and settings) the HEX download towards  SCM is working fine.
It looks to me like a CP/M (cbios ?) problem with ACIA handling and/or CRLF handling maybe....
I didn't find a good way to test and show where is the problem....
Regards.

Hello again! I did try to apply the patch from your link on another CP/M (i.e RunCPM on WIN11) and then put the DDT6.exe onto the RC2014 Mini II CF card.
Guess what .... your guess is a success ! The patched DDT6.COM works :-)
Many thanks.
Now I have to progress with the download.com  program ...

Regards.

Wasnt there a thing about the interrupt used by DDT, and an alternative version that used a different interrupt?  I recall something along those lines.

Pleased to hear you got it working Pascal, it wasnt so much a guess, I recalled a similar problem some time back, which is why I saved the link :-)
Re download, swapping from a CH340G to an FTDI cured all my handshaking problems.
Cheers
Phil
