Hi,

I screwed myself by fat fingering a static IP address into my Wifi card. When I press the Wifi card reset, the esp network appears for a short time then disappears. There isn't enough time to access the webpage and change the setting back to  DHCP or type in the right address of 192.168.1.210. The wrong address is 192.168.200.10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

  Darrell

Can you change the subnet mask on your router to 255.255.0.0, then I think the module should be able to connect to the router with the static ip address. It might be safer to try this with a spare router if you have one.

"Dad, why do we have to change all our devices to use the 192.168.200.x address range?"
"Well, there's a funny story behind that. You see, I bought an RC2014 kit..."
:-)

As Mark says, the easy thing would be to temporarily put a device on that subnet so you can telnet in and change it.

The other option would be to re-flash the ESP-Link firmware on the ESP8266 module.  To do this you'll need to remove it from your RC2014 and move the the programming jumpers from Run to Program  The firmware can be found here; https://github.com/jeelabs/esp-link

Worked like a champ. Thanks! I searched for the subnet mask on the router but for reason couldn't find it at 1AM :-)

Since this is a Wifi connection I didn't think adding another router was an option, though I guess I could have turned off my normal router and fired one up with the same parameters. Fortunately, I was able to change the subnet mask and recover. Kinda surprised my wife didn't scream about losing her streaming feed...
