Hi guys,
I'm thinking about moving my eBay endeavours to Tindie store.
eBay really fees are quite high especially for cheap stuff where I have to pay insertion fees of 36p per item / month. Tindie seems to be without insertion fees according to https://www.tindie.com/about/sell/

Are there any advantages to eBay?

Thanks for your answers.

Tindie is not yet handling VAT for sales to UK or EU, on orders less than £135 or €150 so residents are likely to incur payment of a handling  charge by courier £8 to £30, on top of the expected VAT. Eventually Tindie may fix it, but they are in no rush.

I'm going through this process at the moment.  Besides the learning curve, one negative for Tindie is that all received payments for the first month are held up.  There's also the slow to implement VAT issue which makes me wonder if it's ever going to happen under their new owner.

I agree that eBay fees have become exorbitant ... something like triple what they were when I joined.  The tipping point for me to stop selling on eBay was when they demanded access to my bank account, both for deposits and withdrawals.  Not going to happen and I'm not going to open another account just to satisfy their greed.  PayPal worked fine and has advantages outside of eBay.  As a buyer, eBay has also changed some policies around requesting refunds ... it can't even be initiated until the end of the expected delivery interval even if the item is never marked as shipped.
