Hi.Is there any difference between Tera Term & Tera Term Pro??
I'm using, Tera Term V4.106, which is the lastest, and the Pro Version
works on my Asus I5, but doesn't on my HP I5 (Not Pro). The HP says it needs a
driver for it in Devices, on Win 10.

Would a TTL 3V3 Serial to USB cable need a Driver?
Strange, and the Asus says the Version for Pro is the same number.
(4.106)

Tah, Simon.

Hi Simon, what does device manager on the HP tell you about the com port and its driver?

Hi there!! Don't worry about the HP, for now, I deleted a Malware Virus from my Asus, and it's Downloading fine, thanks

The system is Downloading from a PC, to a RC2014 Mini- with CPM upgrade (64KB), and its saying 'FILE LENGTH ERROR'.
It's got 32KB on the Mini PCB & 32KB on the CPM Card.
I tried 2 GSX files, both 2KB long, and it is giving this Error....Why???

Thanks, Simon.

Assuming the file itself is ok, it probably means that some bytes have been dropped by the serial link, usually through over-run.
Handshaking often doesnt work very well on USB Serial adaptors so try setting character delay to say 5ms and line delay to 100ms before sending the file.
If that works, you can try reducing the delays to find a happy minimum.

Hi Simon,

There's nothing cryptic about the "File Length Error" message.  It literally means that the file DOWNLOAD received wasn't the length it expected it to be.

Assuming you have used File Packager to convert the file before sending it, and that you have a couple of ms character delay then this should just work.  Of course, if you didn't use File Packager (either the Windows program or the online version) or if you've messed with the file before sending, or if its a big file and you don't have any delays added in then I'd expect a File Length Error or maybe even just timing out and not responding.

Spencer
