Using RC2014 as a board tester for other modules

Hi,

I’m trying to debug a RS2014 PRO for a mate. 

I have a couple of RC2014 minis and thought I could test some of the modules using one of them as a test bed.  My mini has a RC2014 bus socket (only single row) so boards can be plugged in. The ROM has SCM 9 enabled so any baud rate, any card should work.

Removing the 68B50 UART chip and plugging my SMBaker dual SIO card was pleased that it booted and worked OK.

Trying the ROM board by removing the RC2014 ROM and plugging the PRO board it doesnt boot. The Pro has the double pins but I’m assuming that the rom disable is not active unless pulled low so being disconnected should be OK? The jumpers are set for Page 8 which is labelled 9 for the SCM all baud all boards. The size jumpers are set for 8K size .

Should the work or have I missed the ‘gotcha’?
