Hi Junta,

Have just returned after watching Taare Zameen Par (or TZP as ppl will
start calling it soon) and I must say that Aamir the director managed
to affect me in ways that Aamir the actor never did. Haan main movie
dekhke senti ho gaya - jo isse pehle kisi Aamir movie mein nahi hua.

I know there are going to be many opinions about this movie and so
thought of starting a separate discussion. I loved the movie. Aamir
has done a great job with the kids and the young Ishaan Avasthi
(Darsheel Safary) is fantastic in the movie. He appears so natural in
fact that at times I thought he was really feeling the pain of the
kid.

I am not going to write anything about the movie. It is for you all to
watch and give an opinion. Some might argue that the movie is slow,
but then, to drive the point home, to let it sink, you need to go
slow. Am I right? Well, watch the movie and decide.

My rating to the movie: 4.5 out of 5. Actually I'd go a step ahead to
make it my entry to the Oscars from India (still don't know what
Ashutosh Gowarikar has in his kitty with Jodha Akbar, but that
definitely won't have a message as pertinent as this movie).

PS: For those who have not seen this site yet, check this out.

Happy watching!

Cheers,
Chandan

ohkay..

i posted my opinion in the wrong thread it seems...

chandan bhai...i saw the movie yesterday...and i must agree with you.aamir khan has performed....as he always did(as an actor also.)

he has the guts to allow himself appearing only after the interval and let the story do the talking.....the movie is simple, and touching....i recommend it to one and all.

as for om shanti om fans....its a great movie..i hava watched it twice...and shahrukh khan rocked the show...

cheers

sunday times also seems to agree with u chandan by saying that best debutante of the year is aamir the director .....

movie is really gud ,,,, and the performance of the kid (enu) is outstanding ,,, infact his performance reminded me of jugal hansraj's performance in masoom ....... dil to touccchhhh kar gaya ..........

look at aamir in the scene when he hugs enu on the dias when enu went to receive his award for the best painter ...... it seems he can feel what the little kid has gone through ......

the movie had to be slow ,,, since the story was simply to tell the audience how a kid feels when there's nobody to understand him and nobody with whom he can share whatever he feels ..... to do justice to such a movie , it had to be a bit slow ........

just one suggestion , don't miss this one .... it indeed should be an enrty for the oscars and i know it will,, because till now i feel its only aamir who can bring an oscar to india , be it as an actor or as a director ........

hi everyone,

came back to india on sunday after 15-1/2 months. had loads of emotion but that another time and in blog :).

had TZP on the first priority. but wtf. it is not being shown in Patna. Theatres littered with the Bhojpuri films. Bloody who watch them. I am so incensed.

Will have to wait then. Going on South India tour of Bang, Pune n Mumbai from 02nd Jan. Will catch up there.

Neways, about TZP. Seriously speaking, I haven't seen such reciews for any movie till now, and I have been following movies for a long time. It is amazing with hardly any negative review.

I am going to hold on my review, but I will definitely like it. And once again, Aamit proves that there is no one like him. Undoubtedly he is the best in Bollywood.
