Hi Matt,

the CANbus went alive :)

I connected servos on rx side and they were moving slowly. I guess
this is ok.

What did not work (or I did not understand) is that servos on servo
side doesn't move (yes I powered them :) ) Is this right ?

Best regards,

Ric

Ric,

Following our discussion I added a new section to the document
describing what to do if the green light does not work.

https://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=1trkfSK4apjnhmSCFpn48_FnzA0qvOap52KdoNC3T0BQ&hl=en&pli=1#heading=h.x5zilfm47xdv

Long term I will aim to get a nice uart based debug of the radio
connections. For now we need to do it with code debug.

Hi Matt,

thank you very much for adding those instructions.

I hope I was not causing a sleepless night

So I guess all the servos are to be connected. I'm going to try it in short and report.

Matt,

that's the result :

- leds comes on (red and green), so I guess rx side all is ok
- servos deos not move

I use analogical and digital servos, those last with their own FS. I can move manually the analogical servo, the digital servos goes in FS. Am I right supposing that there is no PWM out ?

I checked PWM pins for continuity, beetwin pins and processor, and they give me about 330ohm, so they are ok. Btw I checked all the pins for continuity. I always do that when solder something, double checking with a magnifier first, to control the quality of soldering, and electrically then, to be sure.

I'm feeding the board with 3s and a BEC that gives 5.1V (measured).
I'm feeding the servos with a 4cells nimh battery.

The very strange still is that with the test firmware I did not have servos moving on servos side.

Sorry for bad news,

Ric

Are the two grounds connected ?

No, the grounds are not connected.

Once Ric conenctede them the system worked.

Good news for the project. 100% increase in working users :-)

Once again, our intrepid test pilot in the Mountains of Switzerland, leads the way.
His motto: "All planes are born to die". His planes live an exciting, pioneering life, "bleeding edge" sort of life, and that can be for a long, long time.

Congratulations.

Ha ha Pete,

you are so great !

But it was a hard way (full of stupid mistakes) for me, but especially for Matt, who did a great real time support.

Best regards,

Ric

P.s.: now I'm going to switch on my Dremel cutter to cut those hateful RCA connectors on the OSD. I broke it or I win !
