Dear Current Club Officers/ Incoming Club Officers,

 

On April 13, 2017, President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee gave his assent to Goods & Service Tax (GST) Laws (including the relating Bills) which are proposed to come into effect from July 1, 2017 and reform the prevailing Indirect Tax Laws followed in the country. These will impact the working of the Rotary Clubs, and therefore it is advised that Rotary Clubs contact their Chartered Accountants/ Tax Advisors for further information/ update on this matter.

 

Clubs which have already got themselves registered under GST are requested to share their GST registration number for the purpose of our record and use. This will enable us to incorporate registration details on the invoice issued to clubs effective 01 July 2017.

In order to ensure that we determine the correct GST positions for SAO dues transactions, we wish to inform you that we will rely on your current mailing address on record with SAO for the purpose of GST.

If you are required by law to have a GST registration number, then we request you to provide the details to SAO as soon as you receive it from the authorities.

 

You can send the below mentioned details along with the scanned copy of the GST registration document issued by the tax authority, attested by account signatories through your registered email ID to nidhi....@rotary.org

 

Details required:

• Club Name and Club Number
• GST Registration number
• Special Status (if applicable) along with supporting document issued by competent authorities (for e.g: SEZ exemptions) 
• Copy of GST registration

We wish to bring to your notice a critical provision in GST. It is necessary that the “state” code of your GST registration and the “state” of your mailing address available with the SAO are identical. In case, they are different, we request you to update your mailing address for the account to comply with the above requirement
