I have owned Futaba - HiTec - Jr - Polk Hobbies in FM and Spekrum / Jr
in 2.4 ghz. Of the FM equipment that I have owned, to me Polk offered
the best computerize TX for the money and the features that was
incorporated.
In the 2.4 ghz world I have owned Spekrum DX6 - Then DX7 - Then JR
XP9303. I am not a competition pilot. I just love to fly ( about 30
years now in radio controled). I now have 4 Turnigy 9X TX's that I
have flown with FlySky Module, Spekrum DM9 DSM2 module, Corona FHSS
Module and Corona DSSS V2.0 module. The Turnigy 9X TX is more
versital than any of the High Dollar Brand name radio's and for about
1/4 the cost. I'm very happy with the now available cheaper 2.4 ghz
systems and have not had as many problems as I did with the Spekrum
system. Before it was figured out that low voltage brown out of the
Spekrum receiver's was a problem, I lost 3 or 4 planes, all that
Horizon Hobbies would say was that nonething was wrong.

Spektrum DSM1, initial version, shut down by ESC noise. Their
engineer admitted that Spektrum is unable to cope with internal noise.

XPS crashed 3 times. They exchanged it with new version.

I had no problem with cheaper Chinese 2.4.

Not to mention Futaba's "unique identifier" issue where they identifiers were not so unique.

Just because it is name brand does not always mean it is better anymore. They all usually have a problem somewhere along the lines I would think how is the problem dealt with a better case of how good they are.

Spektrum's sweep it under the carpet or the large recall from Futaba. I would have preferred to be a Futaba customer and at least know why the models were crashing than a Spektrum customer wondering why and not getting any answers until much later and possiblly a few models later.
