I've just had an incident with a 4 channel micro receiver, luckily
while I was adding a servo, not while flying. I brushed against the
aerial, and it fractured at the soldered connection to the pcb. There
is absolutely no support for the wire, any vibration WILL result in a
fatigue fracture. It's not hard to re-attach, but the land it
attaches to is tiny. Of course, I had to guess where it came from!
The board should ideally be a couple of mm longer to allow for some
sort of support for the aerial. I've put a dab of silicon on mine to
give it some support.

Thanks for the heads up Bob. Have just checked mine and it is very
firm, looks like there could be a quality control issue, however I
shall apply silicon as per your example.

Yes, I've noticed the lack of support and was going to write a heads-
up.

On the other hand, so long as the wire is connected, the range is far
more than you'll need for any parkflier.

I had my DL50 DLG maxed out today -- it was so small I lost sight of
it several times and had to put it into a spiral to get it back into
visual range. Solid control all the way with the 2.8g "parkflier"
receiver though.

Very, very nice.

I'm sure FrSky will address the antenna support issue but in the
meantime, a dob of hot-glue would work fine.

Be careful with silicone -- if it smells like vinegar then you ought
not to use it because that's the version which uses acetic acid and
the acid may corrode the circuit board over time.

There are acid-free silicones that will do the job better -- or just a
dob of hot-glue.
