Clones

Absolutely.

I would not necessarily use them in a large expensive model, but I am
leaning more towards the electric foamies these days anyways. I could
pull the expensive Spektrum ones out of the foamies and stick them in
the faster planes and use the clones for the foamies.

So yes, I would still buy/own a few genuines, but I do think that the
cheapie clones have a place in this world. That said, I somehow doubt
that the likes of JR/Spektrum will ever allow them to hit the market
