With some age under my belt and a heart condition I decided to upgrade my Sam to the electric age. I have mixed feelings obviously, it seems like an oxymoron to have an electric Rivendell. My experience so far is I can ride a bit faster and further but not getting as good a workout. Anyway my bike guru specializes in electrifying analogue bikes and I thought the group would appreciate the design he made for the battery mounting board on the rear rack that matches the paint job of the Sam. IMG_5506.jpeg

Hey,  if it keeps you in the game I'm all for it  -  as long as you don't start riding like some of the E-bike hot shots I've been encountering lately   ; - )    The mounting platform for the battery is nicely done.

Looks like you opted to but the powered wheel up front (?)  What's your impression so far?

Congratulations on the new project.  To really look Riv, though, the battery should be in a bag.

My buddy Lou went from his dream Chapman Rando to a dream Trek e-assist because of a hip distance limit.
Best thing about it, fits 40-mm tires.
Also, because of Brian's backlog, he made a significant profit on the Chapman (he kept the original TA bag)
