I'm looking for a solution to keep my (admittedly small) Swift Bandito bag from swinging fore and aft. VO make THIS THING, which looks nice, but I can't stomach paying close to $80 to solve this problem. I usually use the Bandito on my bars but will be taking a trip soon and need to free some real estate up front so was hoping to use it on the saddle instead.

Thanks for any guidance!

Carradice has a number of saddlebag supports: https://carradice.co.uk/collections/accessories?page=1

I’ve made stand-offs using PVC pipe and zip ties, tho’ I generally just strap saddlebags tightly to the saddle rails and to the seatpost, which keeps them from flopping and swaying.

I don't think these are made anymore, so you'll have to find second hand but I use one of these, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlTbImXIXFQ
though its likely to exceed your budget--which is what?

I pretty much want to accomplish what the VO part does, but I can't rationalize paying that much for it. Mainly, I want to keep the bag from hitting my legs. Maybe PVC is in my future!

They’re still in Carradice’s catalogue.

The Bagman and classic, not to mention the SQR, keep bags still and away from your legs.

Have you tried Nite Ize twist ties?

You might look at all the klickfix mounts as they have various seatpost mounted supports.

Acorn does this little leather cylinder thing, but you can use some PVC pipe and a toe-strap...

BxB uses hard foam blocks with two slots cut through them and a Voile strap that feeds through the slots and around the seatpost and bag loop. You can make up your own foam block(s) quite easily from leftover foam packaging.

Apparently no longer available per the Acorn website. I have 2 of them NOS that I’ll sell sans straps (I’ve scavenged the straps for other uses) for $15 each + USPS ground shipping, say $22 shipped CONUS for one, both for $37 shipped CONUS via USPS ground; add $4 for Priority.

I found that I don’t need a standoff and that simply making the straps tight keeps saddlebags from swaying.

Thanks everyone! I'm working on a solution now thanks to all of these ideas!

I can't take credit for this idea, but a buddy of mine repurposed some rack struts to make this support for his Swift Zeitgeist, it reportedly worked great!!20250422_184424.jpg
