Last week I did some cycling in Japan but didn't have my own bike. Tires were 25mm and I kept wishing I had brought my own bike with 42mm tires. I will do this trip again in the near future but I will bring my own bike. Still was fun though.

This week I decided to take another cycling trip, this time in Gatineau Quebec. This is right across the river from Ottawa, Canada. The Gatineau Parkway is a jewel in the park. Closed to automobile traffic at the moment, means just being able to ride without worries. I also brought my Sam Hillborne which is a joy to ride.

First photo, tour in Japan.
Second photo, my car trip to Gatineau. First time using my Thule roof rack. Tim Horton's cup to show I am really Canadian.
Third photo my Sam on the Parkway.

Nice.  Shimanami Kaido is definitely on my bucket list.

Shimanami Kaido is on my bucket list as well.  But it doesn't seem worth the $$ to ship my Sam unless I do more than that.
So I'm considering the "Route Romantique" in San'in as the add-on.
Has anybody shipped a bike to Japan?  Is it easy?  Hard?  Expensive?  Do you ship it to a bike dealer there?
