Just and FYI, on something I came across...

Over on Waterford's Gunnar page, they have a touch-up paint order section.
http://gunnarbikes.com/site/order/touchup/

Included in their list, are orange and green Sam Hillbornes, and the Atlantis green.

FWIW...

They send a pretty good amount, too.  At least the ones I have are 3.5 or 4oz.

I'm happy for Riv owners who have a color labeled for their bikes, but I'm outta luck. My Hilsen is a non-stock light green, and I have no idea what it's called. Grrr..

Does anyone have a good match for the blue Rambouillet color?

Thanks,
Toshi

I missed the Hilsen in that other list...

I want to mention, in case someone is searching and comes across this:   new Hilsens are made by Waterford, but the early ones were made by Toyo, and have a similar, yet different shade of blue;  this wouldn't be a match for them.

Since the Rambouillets were all made by Toyo, I wouldn't expect Waterford to have the 'right' color for any of them, orange, blue, or green.   I wish they did, but...

+ + +

Now that I'm thinking about it, wasn't Riv at one time contemplating carrying touch-up paint for their frames?   Is that still in the works?

Thanks for the info. I ordered some of each of the Waterford Hillborne colors (have orange bike now, getting green bike 1Q2012).

BTW, the nice customer service person at Waterford e-mailed me upon receipt of my paint order to confirm that my frame was in fact Waterford-made. They are well aware, of course, that there are non-Waterford Hillbornes out there and were concerned that I might be expecting it to match a mon-Waterford frame, whether ignorantly or not. They even offered to verify its Waterford-ness by the serial number. Very cool.

Anyone know how far apart the Sam orange is between Waterford and Taiwan? I have a Taiwan Sam and I'd suspect the W'ford color is closer than anything else I could get.

As for Riv selling touch up, the tail-of-two-Sam-oranges is a perfect example of why I don't think they would ever bother. They'd have to stock dozens of colors to account for variances that come from the small batches in which they produce frames, and field way too many complaints from people who didn't get the "exact" match they expected.
