One exceptionally beautiful Rivendell. Check out the article here: https://theradavist.com/gideons-rivendell-atlantis/

I think I will follow suit with a custom colored 2025 Atlantis myself.

Really nice bike.

Builds like this are what make me recall what I said to Leah as she compiled her pieces to build her Platypus. When you've ridden and come to appreciate how something contributes to your enjoyment it makes you have a preference. All of these contribute to any build you execute. The really neat part is how much people overlook because they haven't formed a preference for a particular item and how many people do see the littlest stuff.

A bike build is a tapestry of your riding history and growing relative appreciation of each of the parts. You never have to defend or explain any of them, but it is pretty cool when someone points out a seldom acknowledged detail.

I love the representative refinement of Gideon's cycling  that has influenced his build list. what is enormously clear is that the big component outfits will steer clear of this sort of use of their parts but the small makers relish. I love that he didn't even list the shifter for the 11-spd cassette/derailleur. Wonder if that registers with Shimano, on top of his choice of almost thirty year old XTR crankset.
