Hey there,
maybe its unlikely but here goes nothing.
I am in search of a tan colored waxed Fabio's Clap Trap for my sergio green Susie.

If you got one laying around that needs a bit more use, I am happy to help you out.

IMPORTANT, just in case...
I'm based in Germany, so shipping is international for most of you in this group, I guess.

Thanks in advance,
Steffen

Hi Steffen — La Chouette in Paris has some of the Clap Traps in stock but not in waxed tan. They have bone waxed which looks real nice! Of course it's just my take but I think the bone and Sergio Green would make a nice paring. La Chouette is located in Paris so likely a little better on shipping than getting one from the USA.

Oh, I should add that I have one of these bags and they are great.

Steffan,

Sick photo of your Slugstone!

Regarding the bone colored Clap Trap, I got my wife a similar colored Ron's Fanny (not exactly the same, it was an off-white with orange undertones that looked pink somehow). It looked great at first, but over time it's got more and more dirty and now looks a bit dingy. She still uses it all the time, but if I realized how it would age, I would have chosen a different color.

I have a "Doom" color way clap trap on my Bombadil. It is a solid bag, but in a lot of ways I prefer the Fanny style over it. I wish Ron was able to offer both styles still.

Good luck with your search!

I'm right there with you, Eric.
Bone waxed would look great on the bike and I allready thought about it.

My main concern is getting it dirty from laying it on the ground or muddy weather, since im planing to have a bag on the bike for winter/bad weather rides.
For short trips in the sommer I am absolutly fine with that stem bag and the bandana under my saddle. If the ride gets a bit longer or on rainy conditions, I would love to bring a smal rainjacket and stuff like that with me, without the bag looking like a Dalmatian spinkled with mud, haha.
At least tan wouldn't be as effected by it. Otherwise bone would be a good choice.

Maybe something fitting for your new Raleigh build - that I quite enjoyed, I might add.

Greetings,
Steffen

Thank you Ben!
It's exactly what I had in mind. Would you mind sharing a Picture of that bag?

Maybe it can convince me to go for it or stick to my original plan - finding a tan version or waiting till they get restocked.

Sure thing! You can see it on the bike in the last set of photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pVnKsNNnRnqYRGrWA

I just took some photos of it indoors and up close. It's overcast today, so lighting is maybe not the best: https://photos.app.goo.gl/465NvCtUeWGVdTao7
Hopefully you can tell though that it's actually supposed to be off-white, but the top flap has a color pink-ish hue due to the orange underlay. Looked amazing when it was brand new.

Oh, and just as a related anecdote, my wife and I just got home for a ride around SF today. She was on her Platy with the Clap Trap and I was on my silver Crust Romanceur with a Goldilocks Fab's Chest. As we were climbing up Twin Peaks, some couple in their car slowed down, leaned out the window, to say "Nice Ron's bags!" So, yeah know, still a good looking bag :)

What a fleet of beauty you have there. Especially your rambouillet.

Regarding the discoloring - I am not really sure if I like it or not. Tan still seems to be the better option for me.
I appreciate you, taking the time to grab some pictures.

Greetings,
Steffen
