The Rivendell bikes, that is. I'm just back from 44 miles of hills and wind on my Rambouillet, which was delivered new 5 years ago. 8,536 miles on it, and my only regret today is that my legs ran out of gas before my desire to ride was fully sated! Which of the 3 in my garage (also a Saluki and a Road std) is my favorite? Mostly, it's the one I happen to be on at any given moment. They each are different, and good in different ways.

Here's hoping that your 2012 (and mine!) is filled with many more Rivendell miles, no matter which model fills the bill for you.

That is the best explanation I have heard. I will have to use it next time some asks me my favorite. In the past I had multiple bikes but so specific in purpose... I didn't ride my touring bike unless touring.. it just wasn't fun to ride by itself... same for the mountain bike.. and race bike... challenging to find jus the fun bike...

Now I have the AHH, Bombadil and Quickbeam .. biggest problem is choosing what to ride each day.. it's a dream come true walking into the garage and knowing I'll enjoy the ride no matter what bike I get on.
