I was in the Chicago area visiting family this past week, and finally had a chance to visit Mack's Bike and Goods in Evanston (
https://www.macksbikeandgoods.com/). Sam, Kelly, and colleagues have been praised here before, and I don't really have anything new to add other than to say that, should you find yourself in Chicagoland, go to Mack's and enjoy a place and people that make the world feel more fun and bikeable. (No car? Take the CTA Red Line north to Howard, then the Purple line north to Central, then catch the 201 bus to Central Park Ave. Reverse the process for an easy trip back into the city.)
Several Rivs around the place. I saw at least one Platy, a Sam (which I rode through the neighborhood for a bit), a Clem, a Roadini maybe?, and a prominently-displayed, diag-tubed, well-loved Hunq at which I could have stared all day.
A friendly bike shop really settles the mind; at least it does for me.
