We visited RBWHQ this past Saturday so my husband could check out the
Bleriot frame special. The Bleriot was too small, so I encouraged him
to try out a Sam Hillborne. No bike purchase was made that day... but
he went back Monday and I am excited to report he's now the owner of
his first Riv! We are now a two Riv household (Glorius and orange Sam
Hillborne).

We also picked up some of the possum wool items- I highly recommend
the bicycle bill hat.

I have been eyeing that Bleriot myself, if you don't mind me asking
where does your Husband come in PBH wise?

And I second Manny thanks for sharing the photos and the Experience.
One of these days I've got to get there.

Ryan,

His PBH is 86, which if I remember correctly puts him on a 59-60 Bleriot (but I could be totally wrong on that). I do know that the 55 was definitely too small for him.

Ryan, please buy the Bleriot.  I didn't know about until I saw this thread and it is my size. I don't think spousal approval for another bike is in the works any time soon.

Thanks for the info Cheryl I am a 83 and according to Riv I should be
looking at a 57 although it appears I could go a size up or down from
that. I have now seen two 55 cm frames for sale (Hiawatha cyclery)
but no 57cm

Dan I think the reality is that I am in the same boat you are "You
want to buy another bike?!" LOL

Cheryl your husband is lucky to have a spouse that appreciates the
finer points of lugged steel bikes. Although in fairness to my spouse
I built her a Mixte for her birthday and she likes enough to have
named it "Blue Bell" and even rode in the rain last week to test out
the fenders

RR

The number of bikes you think you need is always X=N+1 where N= the
number you currently have in the quiver ;-)

Thanks Ryan- I am the catalyst in the household when it comes to bikes. My husband now "blames me" for getting him into a potentially pricey (but rewarding) habit. He even joined the RBW Owners Bunch today and is lurking here somewhere.

I hope the Bleriot works out for you...

Now you are making it worse.  Hiawatha is my LBS.  I didn't know they had one for sale in my size as well.

What was that saying? It's easier to gain forgiveness than to obtain
permission? :)

Dan I am a helper its what I do ;-) and just to make it eaiser here

Full disclosure I am in no way employeed, retained, or remunerated by

fella who would be deserving of your Frame business.

Just sayin' Dan.....

I'm safe Jim at Hiawatha no longer has the frame, and the 55cm Bleriot is no longer on Riv's website.

I am fortunate to live in a town that has alot of older lugged steel bikes.  I enjoy seeing them and keep a sharp eye out for all the interesting bikes around town.  Have seen an orn

Sorry about that fragment, fingers are fuddly.  Allow me to continue.  Have seen an orange Rambouillet, and Atlantis around town.  Today after work and afternoon ride up to Horstooth Mountain Park I went to my favorite local brewery(not New Belgium) Odells, and parked in the bike rack is a Hilsen.  Dark Green Paint. Baskets, dirty and well ridden.  A wonderful sight to behold.  Old lugged steel is nice but modern Riv lugged steel is out of this world.

The brewery was full of happy people enjoying great beer. Hope the Hilsen owner had fun and would respond if on this list.
