$2500.  If anyone can let me know how tell the difference between the Toyo's and the Waterford's, I'd love to know

I'm 6'2" and wear 34" inseam jeans and this fit me with a fistful of seatpost showing.  I'd call the condition 'average' as I've seen many that are worse and others better.  Grant calls it beausage.  Let's go with that!

I'm attaching a picture here, but contact me and I can send links to more.  I'll update this post with the parts on the bike, but my favorite are the 36H, 9s, Phil Wood wheels.  Stay tuned.

Derailleurs: bombproof Shimano XTR 950, 9s, front and rear
Crankset: Sugino RD-3000, 175mm, triple
Wheels: 36H Phil Wood hubs laced to nice, comfy rims (I forget the make) with Teravail 42mm tires (I liked these far more than RH).
Brakes: Tektro CR-720, silver cantilevers
Levers: Shimano Dura Ace 9s bar end shifters and Shimano silver brake levers.
Other: Nitto Technomic stem, American Classic 27.2 seatpost, Shimano Ultegra headset
No pedals, no saddle

I can send anywhere you'd like, provided you cover shipping.  I've got the big box in the garage already.  I'm happy to answer any questions, just let me know.

I'm located in Indianapolis, IN.  I can tape the bars with a beige/brown tape, but wanted to make sure future owner is good with the stem length.  I may have others I could swap out.

This is a great ride and I'm selling to make more room in the garage.  I'm also about to list a 63cm Homer Hilsen from the same Waterford/Toyo era.

I was told that the Waterford Atlantises (Atlanti?)  have mid fork eyelets and if I recall correctly they also have kickstand plates.

My 64, which looks a lot like yours is definitely a Toyo with a mid 100s serial number.

Your seat cluster photo caused me to tun out to the garage and take a look at mine, I never noticed the "W" detail on the seat stay before wondered if that was a Waterford detail but I have it also.

Good luck with the sale, very fair price

My Toyo (previously assumed to be a Waterford) has mid-fork eyelets and a kickstand plate, but a Toyo serial number. I think learning how to differentiate between the serial codes on the BB is really the only way to know.

In my studies determining if mine is a toyo v a waterford, i recall waterford being written on the dropouts being a solid clue. It’s my favorite bike of all time.

Great bike and congrats on the sale! Those curved chainstays look like a Toyo-built from what I’ve read about them.

Any chance you would share the serial number? Might help in future ID of a Toyo vs Waterford.

I'm reasonably sure that W where the seatstay joins the lug is a Waterford signature. I have the same style on my 97 AR which Waterford-built

Nice bike; no wonder it went so quickly

I’m not sure who came up with the seat stay cap  W being associated with Waterford but it is definitely not true. My Atlantis 2 is a Toyo and has the seatstay cap W.

I'll just add that according to a 2002 review of the Atlantis which was Toyo made, a big deal was made about the custom bent chainstays by Touhoko, the Japanese tubing vendor who seemed to have a hand in the frame.

The 2002 review was by John Shubert of Adventure Cyclist.

And, those curvy chainstays are da' bomb!

Cheers, John

Well...I stand corrected then...should have read Glen's post before I opened my big mouth :) Wonder where the detail came from though, because do I have the W on my AR and it was definitely Waterford-built

Anyway I do like the older Atlantis and those curved chainstays are swoopy

I've heard reference to 'starlight' seat stays in the past. Is this what is meant by that- the little Ws in the seat-stay cap?

Cheers, John
