Figured I'd share the second Rivendell I finished recently.
I built this Sam Hillborne on a lark for a local charity auction, and ended up winning the auction myself (long story). Anyway, the money went to charity and I have yet another awesome bike.
Like the Atlantis, this one is also a SRAM 1x10 because I had the parts around. Paul brakes & Paul seatpost, White hubs and 700c wheels. I even found an old Chrome Sram shifter. Still breaking in the Mente saddle and waiting for some Berthoud fenders (the PDW set is on there is too small and temporarily) and a MUCH BIGGER BASKET.
Kinda love the twin top tube frame. I'm not sure the extra tube actually does anything meaningful, especially for what's becoming the world's most awesome ride-to-work-grocery bike, but it looks amazing.
I love being upright and it's great for errands, but not completely sure how long I'll keep this bike. I'm toying with painting it over the winter months — we'll see!!
Rivendell rules. Not really sure I'll ride anything else any more!
XO
Paul
