I am sad to see the comic go.
I'm not sad to see the comments section of the comic go - some very
odd items there.
I am also curious what happened that made rick decide to stop it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one saddened by the ending of the Kickstand Cyclery, am I?

Nope, reading the strip over breakfast very morning has been one of the delights of the past year or two. First three things I checked every morning was Yehuda, Calvin and Hobbes and Cul de Sac.
I'm sad to see it go, have some vague hope it might be back some time, and have *no idea* of the amount of time something like that must eat up and take away from family, friends, etc. It has to be considerable even when not running into the inevitable writer's block and such.
My thanks to Rick for his hard work and labor of love! I hope he enjoyed it as much as I and many others did. The strip deserves a little mention in the "Lauterbrunnen Leaflet" some time.
He crafted some good, interesting, real characters and maintained a good
insight on human nature. And made me laugh regularly.
As I know from some other friends, making a go of it as a cartoonist is a
tough task.
Thanks to Rick for the sharing that with us. May there be a way in the
future to make it work for you.
