Hi all,
I am seriously considering buying a Platypus during the next run in June and I'd really love to ride one if possible. I am looking for someone within an hour or two of Philadelphia who has a 60cm Platypus and would be willing to meet up and let me take it for a spin.
No rush on my end.
Thanks,
Tim in Philly.

After unexpectedly getting the opportunity to ride someones Sam recently (so fun!) I was thinking it would be great to have some kind of organized meetup to try out different bikes. I'm also in Philly and feel like there's probably enough people that come to the bike expo in March to make this happen...

Was thinking the same thing Jamie!
I'll be coming up and bringing my 56cm 650b Atlantis to the show. Would love to meet up and ride with other folks!

I’m all for that! The Philadelphia bike expo is drawing more and more people every year. Last year about a half dozen of us Rivsters went for a bike ride at Washington Crossing State Park, on the towpath next to the Delaware river.
I was going to offer Tim my 55 platy for a test ride, but he is tall.

I love this idea!
Last year before Bike Expo we had a Riv ride/meetup in Lambertville, NJ and it was really fun. I'd gladly help organize one in Philly.

Sounds like fun. I'll bring my QuickBeam, looks like it's a 59 ctc or 60 ctt.

Chiming in to say that this idea is awesome. A Riv meetup ride would be great. It is always a joy to see what people do to build up their Rivs as their own. Consider me in if this takes place.

When will we meet up and ride? Would Fri, Sat or Sun be better?

Hey Pam,
Tentatively let's plan for Saturday late afternoon, maybe even after the show ends and before keystone party.
