Black 11-speed Ultegra STI … one thing leads to another and where will it stop?

The Roadeo came with no bottle cages, and I wanted some light ones right away, so I stopped at High Desert and bought …. see below.

Black crabon fibre'.

So, not only integrated indexed STI, not only matt black, but carbon fiber.

Where will it end?

PS: Ti cages would be as expensive and harder to find.

Maybe I’ll just stick to that dark integrated indexed matt black groupo. (No emoticon.)

Thermoplastic: I’m not sure these are better or worse, but what’s for sure, they’re a lot heavier and a lot cheaper.

Hey, they're carbon, to satisfy the weight weenie in us all :-)

I think your Roadeo would look better with silver parts though , unless you get it repainted something colorful to go with black parts !

I have to say though I bought some Lezyne Power cages and love them better than the inverted stainless type. They're made of hollow aluminum,kinda chunky looking , but cool, and painted to boot, so no bottle marring.

I  bought a set of black Mavic Aksium130mm wheels for my VO Rando frame. I may have the frame painted something else, I'm not sure yet. The black wheels will go with the the "Trout" metallic gold based green paint, but my heart screams for a bright sparkly metallic orange. I have another custom frame about to be built that I'll have painted in sparkly orange  PPG Pearl paint ! I do have some BBB cork ribbon bar tape though, in bright orange, ready to put on something !
