I'm planning on it! I spoke with Chris about it last month, and I
think it will be exceptional.

There's also an interesting ride from there down to Southern
California...

I couldn't do the ride back south, but am VERY excited about the weekend!

I'll likely be around.

Is the ride back down to SoCal posted somewhere?

Ha - I'll have to bikely it.

Tours from the north before the event, or down south after are
interesting. But having ridden Rough Riders stuff (with Dustin), I'm
not sure I'll have much left after these two days.

PLAN ON THIS - it should be mixed-terrain epic.

They could have at least stopped by and said "hi!"

Don't see any racks or packs in the pix. Would I have to strip down
my Atlantis to get admitted? And maybe fit up those bumpy tires?

I betcha' they'll take you just as you are!  It would be fun to send a SoCal contingent up for it!

Looks like a good time!!!!!!!

Any suggestions for centralized lodgings for this???  There are a couple hostels, but they close mid-day and have a cerfew so I'm kind of reluctant to use them althoug I love hostels.

As far as the return home, guys, you are way over-analyzing this.
Find San Francisco. Go west. See ocean. Turn left. Keep the water
on your right. 4-5 easy days and you're in San Luis Obispo. Anytime
after that you can pick up the train if you're short of time or
otherwise want to get home quickly.

Getting there is EZ. Rent a one-way minivan (seats 4 + 4 bikes + gear
easily) to drop in at SFO or OAK. I'm going to see if I can work this
into my summer. There's a 90% chance we have a wedding to attend in
Prague on July 4 weekend and of course that's too far to go for just a
weekend. But if I get back with a week between events I'll be good to
go. And Atlantis is good to go as-is!

I'll be up in the Bay Area anyway.... so I might just be going "home"
to someplace I'm subletting (or to my in-laws' place).

But a ride down would be fun! We'll see how things play out.

I'm planning being in the Bay Area the entire week before the ride,
doing some camping and hitting up the the wine country, and riding
home afterwards. If you guys are getting a group together for the
ride home, count me in!!
