Greetings
Does anyone know the color or a close enough match to the official cream head tube color Riv uses?  Having my SH frame worked on and subsequently painted and trying to figure that piece out.
Thank you
JS

Reach out to Riv! There was a mention of it on one of grant's Blahgs maybe 2 years ago related to the Gus Boots wilsen if you want to go searching...

I've attempted to mix touch up colors for most of my bikes over the years, with varying-but-almost-always-less-than-perfect results.  The only one I ever got perfect was creme for filling in lug windows to match Rivendell headtubes.  It ended up being nothing more than white with a few drops of yellow mixed in.  Testor's enamels are easy to find at modeling/craft stores, are inexpensive and come in nice-sized small bottles, but latex might work too, so experimenting is cheap and easy.

The trick is to match it to the model you're working on. OG Rivs are VERY yellow, the current ones are near-white, and the Rambouillet I owned appeared to be completely white. In other words, mix it 'til you like it.

thanks everyone
I should've been more clear in my OP.  I'm not looking to mix up paint for touch up.  I'm looking for an actual color code or name that closely matches the newer Taiwanese Riv frame head tubes.  Has anyone had a frame painted recently and got an acceptable cream?
I had a frame painted a couple years ago and the head tube came out whiter than cream.  Since I'm going to the trouble to have a frame repaired and repainted, I might as well try to get the head tube correct.   I could order a sample book from the paint supplier that the painter uses, but that seems a bit overkill.  I'm sure someone has done it recently.  It's looking like the repairer/repainter I will likely use, uses DuPont Imron, FYI
Thanks again

Oops.  My bad in assuming you were just touching up.  As Joe pointed out, the creme has varied depending on vintage, builder, painter etc.  A coupe of ideas if Riv can't answer to your satisfaction: 1) ask the painter to match the creme on your specific decals, since that's what really matters.  Might be safe to go a slight shade darker since the headtube is such a big area and will read as "white.".  2) Have Rick at D&D do the painting, since he's so familiar with it.

Matching the cream to the decals makes a lot of sense.
Thank you

I imagine that if you’re having the frameset professionally painted they could match that color pretty closely. If going that route, have a few sample images available to review with them so that both you and the painter are on the same page. I have taken screenshots of colors I liked and then created a PDF with them all in there and emailed them to my builder and painter. Calibration on computers can be a little different from screen to screen, but at least you’ll be in the ballpark. Just my $0.02
