For sale is my 2015 Salsa Fargo large (20") green machine. I've got it listed local on San Diego craigslist here: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/bik/5880772433.html
in case anyone is interested. $900 but I'll take $100 off for list members for a total of $800 local pick up or I'll ship it if you pay for it via bikeflights CONUS. Rides great but I have a Surly ECR so overlap exists and one of them has to go- bye bye Fargo.

Thanks,

Bruce in San Diego (310) 968-6910

Bruce: having ridden and loved an early-model, M Fargo, I ask: why are you selling the Fargo and not the ECR? This is a "want to know" question, not a "why do you do this sort of thing" question.

I sold mine, of course.

Hi Patrick,

Well that's a good question. My ECR is newer with 1 x 11 Shimano XT everything including hydraulic disc brakes. It handles wider tires and has fork crown braze on's for various racks like the Surly 24 pack rack. The only negative the ECR has (IMO) are the horizontal drop outs but I'm getting used to them. With that said, they are both so similar and I just don't need overlap or more bikes in my garage than I need. It's the last of my heard to go even though I've been reluctant to sell. I'm just keeping my ECR for MTN riding, store shopping, touring and rainy days. The other bike I'm keeping is my Ritchey Ti Cross Breakaway which pretty much does everything else for me. My goal has always been to have one bike that does everything for me. I've been able to accomplish my goal with 2 bikes which isn't bad :)

Cheers!

Bruce Smitham

Got it; I think I'd do as you are doing, if I had that choice.
