I'm posting this for a friend. Asking $150 for both, plus $30 shipping.

Step right up! Step right up! Step right up, ladies and germs....

If you haven't been using a truing stand, or have been using a so-so stand, and/or have been hankering in any kind of way for a _good_ stand, this is it.

'nuff said.

Dangit, I was building a wheel instead of watching the group FS postings!

Oh well...

I used to have a TS-6 stand  VeloBase.com - View Single Tool which worked well for many wheel builds. I graduated to TS-2 acquired from a member on the ibob list. The TS-6 went to a fellow ibob too.

Is the TS-2 any better than the TS-6? Not really, its more stable without securing it to something. I use a 1 x 18x12 piece of pine the base is attached to with carriage bolts through the pre-drilled holes on the lower frame. The wood base makes the rig stable on any surface. I had the same setup with the TS-6, but since the TS-6 is lighter weight, it still needed to be anchored somehow. I used two carriage bolts with wing nuts and secured it to a plastic milk crate - an old ones from the early 70s.

I still use a dishing tool for wheel builds finished on the TS-2 since the centering feature is off a couple of millimeters. Its a snap to use a wheel dish tool.

But that is a dang good price for a TS-2 stand.  Shipping might kill you though.

Yeah, the one I own seems to be pretty close on the mark for front hubs (100mm), but off a bit for a 120mm rear and off even more for 130mm+.  I've looked at the device from every angle and can't find anything about it that should cause this error.  I even bought a calibration tool especially for the TS-2, but it only works to center the front hub.  Therefore, as you say, I use a dishing tool for every wheel built and centered. Once an accurate center has been established using the dishing tool, the amount of error in the stand's jaws can be taken into consideration on a going forward basis.

Probably wouldn't kill me, personally. I live reasonably close to Rich, whom I run into regularly at RBWHQ; therefore, there's a not-zero chance I might be close enough to Rich's friend to pick it up and dodge the shipping. Hence the pouting.

Even including the shipping, the posted price is under CL market price for the Bay Area over the last few years, which has been in the $200-250 range (how come so high, and so many of them? Have all the hipsters bailed on their fixies in favor of E-scooters?). Toss in the dishing tool, and it's a steal.

I was looking for one for awhile and everyone was quoting me like $70 due to weight. In the end I bought one from someone that used bikeflights to ship it and it cost less than $20 to go across the country.
