So, I just bought this frame from another list member that you may have seen recently (Thanks, Ray!). I was hopeful that it would be the right size for my girlfriend, but unfortunately doesn't seem to be ideal. As such, I am looking to flip it to someone else to enjoy. It is a beautiful frame, and as mentioned in Ray's post, it has never been built up. I mounted wheels, saddle, stem, and bars briefly. It is otherwise essentially brand new. Also comes with Tektro 559 brakes. Happy to ship it if interested. 1400$.

Price drop to $1300 for frameset + seatpost. Can deliver to anywhere in the Bay Area.

Would anyone be interested in this frame for a lower price? I don’t want to take too big of a loss, but I hate to sit on it...

I cannot believe that nobody had snapped this up! My Frank Jones is one of my favorite bikes, the one most likely to have been grabbed for any kind of ride last year. The Grilver with cream, custom headlugs, standard diameter tubing... oh my. Beautiful and sublime ride.

Good luck with your sale. I’m looking forward to ice free roads so that I can get out on mine again.

Planers take note!
Ken has a good reminder to those who may have missed that nuance: the Frank Jones is the only production Riv to use the lugs and standard gauge tubing otherwise reserved for the full customs. As far as I know.

I didn't realize that it was the only production frame with lugs and standard tubing in the Riv lineup. It is indeed quite light. It's a shame that it isn't my size and is too big for my girlfriend. Fortunately, I scored the last 47cm Roadini frame from Riv last weekend for her. I am surprised as well that nobody has snapped up this FJS, particularly in light of the coronavirus outbreak. One gear is probably best for the apocalypse...

I’m also amazed this hasn’t been snapped up. I’m still bummed they didn’t make these in a 61 or 62.

It'll move eventually..it's still early in the year for bike selling, plus smaller sizes have a limited pool of riders available. Of course another price drop could help, but I know the pain of that having done it a few times. I get impatient and want it gone!

I'd be interested at it's current price if you could make it a 59!

I'm with Joe. It'll sell. It's a BEAUTIFUL bike.

Just might be a bit early in the year is all.

Yeah, I’d buy a 59.
I should have bought one the first time around! I don’t need another bike, but it’s pretty special.

I did buy one, and it really is special. It's gotta be my most beautiful bike. Someone should grab this frame and build it up. Here's another build picture for encouragement. The knobbies don't QUITE have enough clearance under the fenders, so I've since switched to slightly smaller slicks. New cockpit is in the pipeline because I'm not riding drop bars these days...

If I missed it, what are the seat and top tube measurements? I am closer to a 48cm or 50cm but it might be in range. Is is for 700c tires?

Lesli,

ST is 51.5 C-to-T, TT 54.4, 700c wheels.

The seller posted a link with the info in it but it's confusingly written, hopefully my effort is easier to follow.

If the frame doesn't fit you with drops it for sure will with Albas, Billies or Boscos. That baby is rare and beautiful, you should buy it!

Joe,

Thank you! I found them. Odd. I had never heard of this model (this is what happens when you jump away from the list for awhile). That toptube is loooong (on paper I would be a more likely candidate for the 48cm but breaking out my tape measure to confirm). Best, Lesli larson
