Inquiring about "sling over the rack" rear panniers; perhaps trade for Medium Happisack or Sackville?

I'm sorry, a technical term for what interests me escapes me, but I'd like information about panniers like this one, where the bags are connected by fabric that hangs over the rack.

When I Google "roll-up panniers" I get a lot of hits, tho' I don't care if they roll up and I am certainly not committed to old-tymey canvas and leather and wooden sticks; I just want the kind of middle-sized panniers that sling across the rack instead of separately clipping to the rails.

Can anyone give me the right name for this category? Makes and models? And:

And: would anyone care to discuss trading something like this for a Medium Happisack? Actually, I don't know if what I have is a "Happisack" or a "Sackville," but it's Rivendell, khaki canvas + brown leather + brass hardware, in vg condition -- I'm the 2nd owner but have used it very little.

Reason being: I use, prefer, and insist on Ortliebs for my errand/commuter bike, but the newly re-shod Matt #1 "road bike for dirt" sees only occasional load carrying and most of that is accomplished (with great aplomb) with a large Carradice trunk bag. I have the Happisack/Sackveille for bigger loads but, with the small clearance between saddle and rack, panniers would work better.

Would like at least 23 litres total capacity -- that of Carradice Camper and current Riv Happisack.

Thanks.

This is nice:

The Rivendell Sackville variant of these were called TourSacks.  FYI.

Arkel makes something similar to what you're looking for (https://arkel.ca/collections/bike-panniers/products/dry-lites-saddle-bags). We use these on our tandem, and they've proved to be durable. They're designed to attach to your rack top with velcro straps, but I think you could simply leave the bags velcroed together and attached them at the bottom.

I cal them "double panniers". I had a set back in the day that even had a third zippered bag that covered the tops of the other two, it was huge. I see Public Bikes has a set for under half price. The text says each side can carry roughly a bag of groceries.

Then there's the Amazon mega mart that is full of double panniers, shop 'till you drop.

Thanks Bill and Tom.

Garth: embarras des richesses; thanks. Much to review.

I got a kick out of this: Waterproof Feature: This Bicycle Panniers make of Organic Nylon canvas, support to prevent the water while you riding under the rainy weather.

Many organic canvases died to make these panniers.

Also struck by sellers' confusion about volume, often listing vastly different CI and Litre capacities.

FS: organics cotton canvases Sackville; inquire withins.

Forgot to add that the Public panniers would be the choice if there were not blue.

Thanks Steve. I may be able to work a trade for a pair of Brooks canvas rollup panniers but good to know about the Karrimor.
