Greetings all and happy holidays.

I am looking to find a good lowrider front rack for my 52cm Hillborne.
It would be in addition to a mini front rack with basket in front and
a full rack in back for a long tour coming up. I am curious if anyone
on this list has some recommendations or perhaps a used set-up they'd
like to sell.

Cheers,
Adam

Lowrider racks that will mount up for a tour can be purchased at most LBS's for under 50 bucks and will do a good job ... I ended up purchasing the tubus which were expensive and that just hangs on the wall most of the time. If you like the tubus I just saw one on the internet here..

for like 85 bucks.. if Im not mistaken I dropped 110 or more for mine..

It does a good job and has handled loads well.

Merry Christmas

I use exactly this set up on my tandem.  For every day use it has a Mark's Mini rack and front bag, but when touring I add a Tubus Duo.  I ordered it from England because the Silver ones are not exported to the US, but the black would have done just as well since the rack is almost entirely hidden by the panniers.  These two racks work well together with fenders on our 26" wheeled tandem and should work even better on 700c.  The Duo has lots of adjustability which makes it tricky to install and set up exactly right the first time.  I also have an Ebisu AllPurpose, which is quite similar to an AHH and if I toured on that I would also use the same combo of racks.

Adam:

Tubus has a good selection of racks. The Duo is handy & easy to
install & remove, but does require the fork to have eyelets for its
upper mounts. I had these added to my Atlantis. They are mid-fork, a
ways down from the the ones for the mini-front rack. Tubus also has
other low riders with clamp systems for mounting to forks with no mid
fork eyelets.

I've used a bolt together, cheap aluminum front low rider & found it a
bit wobbly. Jannd's Expedition series are mid-priced and decently
built. Nitto, Tubus & Surly all make heavy duty touring service level
gear but priced accordingly.

Whatever you look at, keep in mind it needs to be stiff, solid &
securely mounted to prevent the load from affecting your bike's
handling.
