Simple question,
I have a set of carbon rails from Selle Anatomica I'd like to install but wanted to double-check that the Nitto S65 seatpost I'll be using won't present a problem. Would I need to opt for a double-bolt design instead?

Cheers,

The silence from the group and Nitto's web page has given me my answer.
If you gotta ask, don't do it!

That's interesting. I wonder what they think of the  Selle Anatomica carbon rails being used with an S83? I have that set up on my Crust Lightning Bold/canti for well over a year and seems to be fine to me. Then again the S83 has two bolts to clamp the rails, maybe that's the difference.

On Nitto's site, they didn't condone carbon rails on any of their posts...but I mean, other aluminum posts can be used with carbon rails so who knows.

On the one hand, I don't see any reason to believe that Nitto's saddle clamps clamp any tighter than anyone else's. I suspect the clamping strength is limited by the materials; Nitto's using aluminum and steel alloys similar to those other manufacturers use.

On the other hand, I still have to call Selle An-Atomica and yell at them about the steel rails in my H2 (tubes, not rods as I discovered), which snapped through about 1" in front of the two-bolt Campy seatpost after barely one year's riding.

So, your mileage may vary, as a regular correspondent might say.

I have an S65 and have used it on two different Brooks saddles and when cranked down so the saddles don't slip there are indentations in the clamp areas on the seat rails. I would think with a carbon fiber rail this would not be a good thing.  this was typed on 012123 but I am not accepted to the group so it will probably be a month before this post shows.
