Had a tough time signing onto the blog so sending email to let the group know I have one of the rare (500 made) baby blue, 59cm canti-Romulus bikes for sale.

Has 44mm noodle bars on, but includes a 46 noodle along with three extra stems.  Also includes Albatross bars with two stems.  All stems are Nitto…

Put new $200 Avid shorty cantilever brakes on – huge improvement over the Shimano.  Cane Creek brake levers along with Tektro cycle cross levers.

Shimano bar end shifters (set of thumb shifters included) nine speed mid-Ultegra rear derailer, 105 front derailer and two 12-27 cassettes (one Sram that came with the bike, one Ultegra).

Araya 36 spoke wheels with 105 hubs, 700x32 Panaracer Pesala tires… Kevlar bead… Great tires…. Plus third brand new tire for spare…

Specialized bottle cages… MKS touring pedals…

Never dropped beauty.. 59cm (measures 58 cm center to the top of top tube, and 57.5 cm long top tube)…  threaded steer tube…

Asking $1,500 for complete bike and all accessories listed above.

Email to this address or call Eric at 775-351-8846.. Pictures on request… love the bike but have to sell for new purchase…

Do it. You know you want it.

It's good to have a backup...

or two.

It'll hold its resale value, so it's not like the money's really gone.

I sold mine 4 years ago for 1300, which is almost what it cost new, and those values have remained steady ever since. Buy it, ride it, sell it later if need be.

In fact - considering all the extras included - that's practically a free frame. Hurry before the seller wises up!

In cleaning my bike last night for additional photos now on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/69841514@N06/6347269645/in/set-72157628134894246/

(sorry I don’t have a very good camera) I came across some paint damage on my chain stays – see last photo…. Argh!!!! (echo, echo, echo)  This has been my baby for the past five years so all you Rivi owners know how I feel…

Apparently the hitch in my pickup has been rubbing on the bottom of my bike while transporting it to and from the LBS.  I spoke to Joe Bell who gave me a good plan for mixing some enamel to repair the paint but since I believe in full disclosure I’ve reduced the price of the bike (and accessories) since the metal has some very slight undulations from the rubbing action – obviously nothing that compromises the integrity of the frame.

As such the new price is $1,300 that includes all the below (plus two additional stems for the Albatross bars I forgot to lists – a 10 cm and an 11 cm @ 25.4).  Shipping costs to be negotiated since I’ll pay to have the bike professionally packed…  BTW, the only other paint chip of consequence is on the top of the chain stay (the size of a pea) below the front derailer (because a goofy LBS mechanic put the dang derailer too low during a tune-up).  Oh, and there is the standard paint loss where the derailer cables rub against the steer tube.

Call 775-351-8846 (days), 775-852-1822 (eves) or email at this address…. Thanks…eric

Subject: RE: Photo Romulus for sale

Wow!! Just ran the numbers on the value of the extras I’m including with the Romulus sale from my old Rivendell catalog (2006).. The catalog had pricing for most items but I didn’t want to bother Mark for the one’s not there.. so I did some estimating.  I got taken on the price of the Ultega 9-spd cassette so I put down what most people can get it for – if not slightly less on sale…  Below is the breakdown….. thanks..e..

Nitto Technomic Deluxe – 8 cm                 = $42

Nitto Technomic Deluxe – 9 cm                 = $42

Nitto Technomic – 8 cm                                 = $38

Nitto Crystal Fellow seatpost                      = $55

Pauls thumb shifters (never mounted)  = $55

Shimano 105 Triple front derailer NIB      = $55

Shimano cantilevers                                       = $70

Nitto Albatross bars                                        = $32

Dia-Tech mtn lever (Albatross bars)         = $25

Cork grips for Albatross bars NIB               = $10 (est)

Topeak Master Blaster frame pump        = $28

Nitto Noodle bars 46 cm                               = $52

Pletscher kick-stand                                       = $14

Shimano Ulterga 9 spd 12-27 cassette     = $75 (est)

Sugino crank arm set – 170mm                  = $50 (est)

Sugino crank arm set – 175mm                  = $50 (est)

SKS fenders                                                        = $40 (est)

All important Brooks saddle cover            = $15

Total value          = $748 at the old pricing (you can compare to see what current pricing would be)
