Hi RBW! I've thrown some bits on the Platypus and so far really love this thing. The ride is about the same as the Cheviot I owned but seems a little sportier since I'm using wavie bars instead of albatross. I need to get a proper set of shoes and am curious for those running Mini Motos with a 700c wheel what the largest size they've been able to squeeze in without fenders?

Nice lookin bike; looks fun to ride. You definitely need some bigger tires though! I once tossed some Mini Motos on my Appaloosa with 50cm Cazaderos. There was about 2mm between the brake wire and the tire. I was not cool with that. Maybe a 48mm slick would be ok, but I'd guess that's about the limit.

Will recently posted some pictures of a Platypus with Mini Motos and 44mm Rene Herse tires. This is pretty close as far as clearance, Clarence!

Oh, and yeah, nice looking Platypus there. I love the black B17 special with the limeolive paint :)

I just tried to put Mini Motos on my Appaloosa with 50mm Big Apple tires and SKS fenders. It was not even close to fitting. I am sticking with cantilevers on it for now because I don't want to take the fenders off. I was kind of disappointed.
Maybe if I step down to 45mm tires and no fenders, the brakes will work.

I couldn't fit a 48 with mini motos on the crust canti-bolt. I'd guess 45ish is the max depending on your bike.

Thanks for the follow up on the tire size. Eric, it's actually a British green Brooks but 10 years of butt sweat has taken its toll.
