I have one of each. The candy bar bag is handy for small stuff, as David says, and I always take it to use on rental bikes as it fits everything. The hobo has a lot more capacity, good for jackets, food, tools, etc, especially with the 2 outside pockets. It can go on either h'bars or Brooks saddle loops.
