First, an update on the new Silver2 shifter: Fabulous!

But what if you want to use it on a non-droppy-bar with regular mtb grips? Well kids there's a way (as long as it's not hard plastic like Ergons). These are Jones Bikes Kraton H Grips, I used the softer clear version. They come in two lengths for Jones Loop Bars but you'll probably still have to cut the short one down a little bit for Bosco, Alba, Billie, etc., easy peasy with a sharp box cutter.

I slid it on real fast with rubbing alcohol, then jammed my cable housing through before everything dried up tight in there. Then I sliced a groove at the brake lever end so the housing would drop down as it came past it. As seen in these photos, check it out! 👍

Pretty. Do you fear that slice might elongate? And is it squirmy where it's cut? Some thin cotton bar tape feels good over those rubber grips, and would keep it wrangled.

The slice has held steady so far, those grips are pretty thick and hard to tear. No squirminess for me, but this is with a bolt-upright riding position on an e-assist Clem L..I'm not grabbing those grips very hard.
